Anyone who has ever been in Venice along the Grand Canal by boat was certainly just as excited as I was, by the incredible beauty and extraordinary architecture of the palaces. Incredible shine and glitter with its white mamor facade in the sun. It is called the Golden House, the Ca d'Oro. Venice was the richest and one of the largest cities in Europe in the early Middle Ages (population in 1300: London-100,000, Venice-110,000). Venetian merchants had the monopoly of trade in rare spices, incense, precious stones and magnificent fabrics from the Orient and Asia. The city was attracted to skilled craftsmen, architects, painters and sculptors who could realize their skills and talents in the many churches and palaces. Even today famous painters like Titian, Tiepolo, Tintoretto and Guardi and sculptors like Corradini , Bellini or Canova worked in Venice.

Du hast die Beschreibung des ursprünglichen Palastses perfekt umgesetzt. Ich stelle mir vor, wie wunderschön und bunt Venedig einmal geglänzt hat. Der Glanz ist verloren gegangen, aber der Charme und der Zauber dieser atemberaubenden Stadt, ist erhalten geblieben.
