Description
Rheinstein Castle near Bingen am Rhein. This castle is now privately owned and to visit. The owners use the entrance fees to restore and preserve the castle. In 1816, the ruined castle fell to the Prussian architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel - the Rhine Province had been placed under Prussia a year earlier by the Congress of Vienna - in the eye. This designed plans for the romanticized reconstruction of the castle, which prompted Prince Frederick of Prussia in 1823 to buy the castle. It was thus the first of the dilapidated or destroyed Rhine castles, which was rebuilt. In 1863 Prince George of Prussia inherited the castle. In the crypt of the chapel Prince Frederick of Prussia was buried in 1863, his wife Princess Louise in 1882 and their son Prince George in 1902. I hope you like my work of the romantic Rhine valley with the castle Rheinstein. The watermark is for security and will not be printed.
