Description
I love old photographs and postcards, especially old portraits or scenes from everyday life. One dreams oneself into another time and tries to imagine how people lived at that time, who they loved and what occupied them. The young woman is Ione Bright after a photograph from 1912. Ione Bright was probably one of the mysteries on Broadway, the petite little actress took part in only 5 plays between 1910 and 1937. There is hardly any information about this actress, equipped with childlike beauty.
I had the idea to present this beauty in a modern expressionistic way. So I started to work with the brush tools and different color gradients and filters. Sometimes you work like you're intoxicated and afterwards you don't really know how you did it. That's how 3 versions of this picture were created. The 2 best I would like to show you here. I hope you like it, and Ione Bright will forgive me for the many spots of paint on your face when you look at my work from the sky!

Beautiful digital Artwork, Lutz! I love your backstory ...you are bringing an actress from obscurity into Global witness over a century later! ...I also love how you describe the co-creative process of being one with the FLOW...yes, it is intoxicating...a “thruness” one is hosting until it leaves you depleted...with a painting memory left behind.
Lutz Roland Lehn replied:
Thank you, dear Laurel. You can also see very well in your pictures that you are often also a victim of this creative madness. I have another project in my head. This time it's about a very courageous young woman who lived over 150 years ago and made it to the daily newspapers with her heroic deed. Hopefully the picture will be as good as I see it in my mind and will not end up in my trash can.
