Description
After a wonderful trip to the Middle Rhine Valley, I was once again more impressed by this fantastic landscape.
For millions of years, the Rhine has cut a path through these mountains. The legend of the Loreley is still told by people today. It is said that a beautiful maiden sits high up on the rock and sings with an angelic voice. Distracted by this beautiful song, the shipmen steer their ships onto the reefs in the river and are lost. I hope I could reproduce the magic of this landscape in my picture and you like it.

Lutz , this appears to be a “digitally hand painted” piece, yes? If so, I see many artists who have moved to digital brushes for one reason or another are clearly making…and emphasizing… this distinction. For me personally, it heightens my interest , even fascination, with the newly emerging future of “hand artistry”. I surmise, I will make that leap someday as more and more issues with media, binder, additive toxins and their reactive consequences arise. My preliminary research shows it is an AMAZING (if not overwhelming) feat to conquer the hundreds of virtual choices for each setup!…YIKES! This requires mastery: of science..art…and inspiration! BRAVO!..LF

Thank you so much, dear Laurel. This is an original hand-painted acrylic painting of mine. I painted it this summer after an outdoor trip with the bikes. The romantic Rhine valley starts 20 miles from Mainz. It is a beautiful valley with many castles, vineyards and ships on the river. My digital work is mostly done with the brush tools and various filters with Photoshop. Despite the many possibilities, many are very elaborate and cost several days of work. They are not photos that were edited in 5 minutes with a few filters. I hope you and your family are healthy and cheerful - send you love from Germany
